Teacup Poodle Guideline 15 : Cuts and Scrapes: First Aid

Answer to the previous episode:
Read Teacup Poodle Ep.14 (Odor Problems)

due to the lack of sweat glands on their bodies,
teacup dogs' paws are considered the most important part
of their body that helps to release their body heat
(^.^did you guess it right?)

teacup dogs always look stunning after coming out from the pet salon.
and yes, some owners would actually go on and purchase a home salon kit
for their pets and groom them at home for personal interests.
however owners also need to acknowledge that  most tools required
to groom a teacup dog such as scissors, hair combs, and nail clips
are all heavy metals with sharp edges, please be very careful when
using them
to groom your pets especially around the eye/ear/corner areas.

Teacup Poodle Guideline 15 : Cuts and Scrapes: First Aids

if your teacup dog is accidentally injured during the grooming,
apply gentle and continuous pressure with a clean cloth or cotton pads
on the wound for 20-30 minutes, in most cases
minor cuts and scrapes usually stop bleeding on their own.

After the bleeding has stopped, rinse out the wound and surrounding areas
thoroughly with
saline solution and apply small amounts of iodine
on the surrounding areas of the wound .
(Iodine can irritate the wound, so try to keep it out of the actual wound).

alternatively if the wound appears to be long and deep,
follow the same treatment methods mentioned above,
and lastly cover the wound with a clean piece of cloth (or sterile gauze)
held in place and use a bandage to keep the wound clean
and keep harmful bacteria out.

release the tightness of the bandage if the wound begin to swell
or your teacup dog is looking ill or physically unwell.
owners need to be extra careful about ___?___
and make sure the blood  flow stays in good circulation.

if the teacup dog's hair is already tangled up like a big mess,
it's not only going to make it difficult to practice medical treatments
on the wound but also going to make the conditions of the infected areas
worse due to the dirt and germs stuck in-between the hair.
best solution to avoid this from happening
is to trim off the hair on
and around the infected areas
before administering first aid for a cut or scrape.

Take a guess at  ( ? ) . Answers will be given on the next episode.
